Pink Room or Salomé seeks to deconstruct and reformulate sexuality, sensuality, eroticism, and desire through the movement of a body that does not correspond to the stereotyped female or male representation of gender.

This project is both, experimental and theoretical research on the inherent relationships between dance and the representation of sexuality and gender. It deconstructs the notions of desire, attraction, and eroticism and corresponds to an exhaustive analysis of the types of movements and steps, as well as music, rhythms, spotlights, directions and other elements that are part of stereotyped choreographies deliberately created around the notion of desire. 

The intention behind this project is to create my own body language and choreography, by developing new strategies to approach body language around the way I perceive eroticism. I want this work to represent the LGTBIQ community and that it does not become a substitute for the male gaze toward desire, sexuality, and gender.

Pink Room o Salomé pretende deconstruir y reformular la sexualidad, la sensualidad, el erotismo y/o el deseo mediante el movimiento de un cuerpo que no corresponde a la representación femenina o masculina estereotipada del género, es decir, desde una mirada disidente.

Pink Room o Salomé reflexiona alrededor de las relaciones inherentes entre el cuerpo, la danza y la representación de la sexualidad o el género, así como alrededor de las nociones del deseo, la atracción y el erotismo. Este corresponde a un análisis exaustivo de las imágenes, del body language, así como también la música, los ritmos, los focos, las direcciones y otros elementos; construidos alrededor de las coreografías estereotipadas y dirigidas deliberadamente al deseo. Con la intención de crear un video arte y formular una danza propia, donde encontrar las herramientas y el lenguaje corporal que manifieste el erotismo propio y subjetivo del performer, que en general represente la comunidad LGTBIQ+, y no resulte un sucedáneo de la concepción binaria de las normas que rigen el deseo, la sexualidad y/o el género.
